Papers, 1915-1966.

The collection documents Rothbort's artistic career, including exhibition catalogs and checklists, clippings, 2 clipping scrapbooks (1915-1966 and 1919-1961), promotional material from the publication "Out of Wood and Stone" (1953), and a small amount of correspondence (1919-49). Also included are an original woodblock print accompanied by a statement, "As a Jewish artist," and notes in Hebrew. A videotape (1992) presents a profile of Rothbort by NYI News. Joint shows with his son, Lawence Rothbort, are also included. Rothbort was "discovered" by artist/critic Hamilton Easter Field; the collection includes clippings related to Field.
